Hodslavice [ Village or Town/City ]
Hodslavice is situated in a gentle valley along the Zrzávka Brook in the north-south direction near the west foothills of Moravskoslezské Beskydy. The name Hodslavice is derived from Hodislav, who came to the village area probably during the colonization under Přemysl Otakar II. in the 13th century. The village was first mentioned in writing in 1411. The village belonged to the estate of Starý Jičín for long years and then to the estate of Nový Jičín-Štramberk. In 1995 Hodslavice gained an all-state recognition with the title of a Perfect Village.
